Music in Carmichael Park

Music at Carmichael Park. What music would you like to hear?

Music at kicked off June 2 with the Community Band Festival. Carmichael Park was jammed with a vibrant crowd of all ages.

I've been a long time advocate of music in the park. Carmichael itself lacks in music venues, but not musicians. I think it's important for a community to have live music to listen to.

As many of you may know, Carmichael Park has a small amphitheater which has amazing acoustics and delivers a great sound.

Some of my favorites from the festival were the Woodland Community Band, conducted by Bobby Rogers, and the Sacramento Concert Band, directed by Grant Parker and Conductor David Ahrens, who played one of my favorite Beatles' cover songs. (both seen in videos)

I'm looking forward to listening to more great music this summer, especially this weekend, June 10, which will be the Capitol City Concert Band. It has 50 plus musicians - trumpets, saxophones, clarinets and an amazing director.
