Carmichael Animal Lovers Can Share Holiday Spirit with Pets in Need

Sacramento area  animal lovers can share their holiday spirit by donating food, toys and treats for homeless dogs and cats through Best Friends Pet Care’s 12th Annual Animal Angel Tree campaign.   All donations will benefit the Bradshaw SPCA, Titanic’s Pantry and Chows Plus Rescue.

“The holiday season is always difficult for our local animal shelters,” explains Best Friends manager Julia Didway. “This year, Hurricane Sandy has put an even bigger burden on shelters – not just along the east coast, but across the country – because so many lost and abandoned pets need help.  We know our Angel Tree program will make a difference for many pets in need.”

Best Friends has put up its Animal Angel Tree in its lobby. The tree is decorated with paper ornaments featuring photos and information about needy dogs and cats. Pet lovers can call to select a card from the tree and donate from the shelter’s wish list for that dog or cat.

Donations to the Animal Angel Tree program can be made at Best Friends Pet Care 3633 Garfield Avenue or by calling 916-487-5221 by December 31, 2012.

All pets featured on the tree are available for adoption.

Best Friends Pet Care offers boarding, grooming and doggy day camp at 42 locations across the U.S.  The Animal Angel Tree campaign is one way the company gives back to the community.  Since the campaign began,  it has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of food, toys and pet care products for more than 100 different shelters and rescues across the U.S.  For more information visit www.bestfriendspetcare.com.

I, too, miss the history quiz of a mystery location. Please bring it back.

I am curious as to why it is vacant and fenced off.

*gasp!!* Tacky chain link fence? There go the property values! Chain link fence aroundRead More vacant/undeveloped land is usually an indicator of some County ordinance to secure the land for public safety. I'd buy the land and for the pure entertainment factor put mock working oil pump jacks on the land. Just to see what people do. :-p

Thanks for the kind words Josh and for doing a good job of taking over Carmichael among other PatchRead More towns. I'll always remember promoting Patch around the area and the weird looks we/you got out at the multi-chamber mixer. Best of luck in Alaska and say hi to the eskimos for me.
