Patch Editor to Speak at Historical Society Meeting

Patch editor Joshua Staab will present a 30-minute talk about and field questions related Fair Oaks Patch and the community it covers.

The Fair Oaks Historical Society will hold its and potluck dinner on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the and Fair Oaks Patch editor, Joshua Staab will be the speaker.

Other meetings have highlighted the Rancho San Juan Land Grant and other local land grants, and the impact of the Gold Rush on our area; the history of the Fair Oaks Water District which included story telling by members of the past all-volunteer fine department; an amazing, detailed, photo and oral history of the historic Straith House, the first mansion on the American River Bluffs; and, a fun and entertaining evening of celebration for our eight members who shared their individual 90-plus years of Fair Oaks history.

The meeting is open to all who have an interest in the history of Fair Oaks. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30. The price of admission is a casserole, salad or dessert to share with others which makes this the best potluck in town! Directions can be found at http://fairoakshistory.org/.
