Davis: Former President Bill Clinton visited UC Davis last week and endorsed several northern California Democrats who are running in close congressional races.

Fair Oaks: MBK Homes spokesman Brian Holloway speaks to a crowd of about 40 concerned Fair Oaks residents Tuesday evening about the termination of the Talmont Townhomes project proposed at Kenneth and Madison avenues. The proposed project faced much opposition from the community.

A donation fund has been established to benefit Perez and his brother, Juan Perez, who also suffered major injuries. Both are students at Skycrest Elementary School in Citrus Heights.

Dixon: A large turnout of Dixon American Legion, VFW and Legion Riders welcomed Florida Congressman Jeff Miller to the Dixon Veteran's Hall earlier this month. The current Chairman of the House of Veteran Affairs Committee made a stop on his California tour to speak with local veterans about their concerns and answer benefits questions, and host a benefit fair with other Solano Veterans service providers.

Elk Grove: Pumpkin regatta competitors paddle at the starting line Sunday. More competitors than ever competed in an annual race across the lake in Elk Grove Regional Park, but it was still a struggle for many of them to get across the finish line.

Roseville: The “skydiving grandma” crossed another item off her bucket list and this time things went much smoother.  to celebrate her 80th birthday last year.

After the video became a viral sensation, Everett went on the "Today Show," where she admitted that riding in a NASCAR racecar was something she’d always wanted to do. Thursday, Oct. 11, her wish came true at the All American Speedway in Roseville, when she rode in a NASCAR racecar around the third-mile racetrack.

I am curious as to why it is vacant and fenced off.

*gasp!!* Tacky chain link fence? There go the property values! Chain link fence aroundRead More vacant/undeveloped land is usually an indicator of some County ordinance to secure the land for public safety. I'd buy the land and for the pure entertainment factor put mock working oil pump jacks on the land. Just to see what people do. :-p

Thanks for the kind words Josh and for doing a good job of taking over Carmichael among other PatchRead More towns. I'll always remember promoting Patch around the area and the weird looks we/you got out at the multi-chamber mixer. Best of luck in Alaska and say hi to the eskimos for me.
