El Camino Alumna Jessica Chastain Receives Best Actress Oscar Nomination

The former Carmichael native receives the nomination for her work in the critically acclaimed film "Zero Dark Thirty."

It's not the first Oscar nomination former El Camino High School alum Jessica Chastain has received, but it's likely just as welcomed a second time around.

The actress has been nominated for the prestigious best actress Academy Award for her work in the film Zero Dark Thirty, an account of American efforts to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.

Chastain was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar in 2012 for her work in The Help, making her the only actor who was also nominated last year. Her latest work in Zero Dark Thirty has received widely positive critical reviews.
