Late Carmichael Art Collector's Artwork on Auction

Ada Brotman lived on Del Dayo Drive

The art collection of a late Carmichael resident is set for auction this evening in Sacramento.

The collection, featuring Sacramento-area artists, belonged to Ada Brotman, who lived on Del Dayo Drive and taught at American River College.

The silent auction and reception runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the law offices of Michael Solomon, 1017 25th St. in Sacramento.

"She collected art for 25 years," said Marty Brifman, Brotman's son. "It's a broad cross section of artwork from local artists including (Robert) Arneson, (Tom) Rippon and (Roy) DeForest."

Brifman said he remembers growing up in Carmichael fondly.

"(Brotman) was always a Carmichael person," he said. "The American River was a part of our lives."
