On Saturday, February 15, Assemblyman Ken Cooley (D-Rancho Cordova) will be hosting a free tax preparation assistance workshop. Starting at 11:00 AM, the workshop will give local tax filers an opportunity to sit down with licensed accountants, talk about their tax liabilities, determine what tax deductions and credits they may be eligible for, and prepare to file their state and federal taxes.
“Each year, thousands of families forego important tax credits and deductions they are eligible for because they have never been given an opportunity to sit down with a tax professional,” said Assemblyman Ken Cooley. “With the help of volunteer accountants, people in Citrus Heights will be able to talk one-on-one with these professionals and hopefully save a few thousand dollars on their taxes.”
