Honorary Mayor, Chamber Board Sworn In

Nava, Carmichael Chamber officers take posts.

Esteban Nava was sworn in as on Tuesday joining board members at their monthly luncheon at .

Nava, who is a critical infrstructure protection compliance specialist with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, took the oath of office from chamber official Linda Melody and received a medal from the .

The outgoing mayor told the crowd that her campaign last year was operated by her students at and that they gained experience on government, business and Carmichael.

"The students reached out to the Carmichael community," Gilmour said. "Carmichael is not only a beautiful place to live but it's filled with kind, hardworking, generous people like yourselves."

The new chamber board has its previous members returning and has added Carole Ebert of Armor Mini Storage, Tracy Kerth of the and of Citibank.

In other chamber news, new members are Betty Bold (residential member) and Mel Livengood of Gateway Systems.

Chamber members announced Bob's Pocket, a website where Carmichael residents can post news and announcements.

The chamber's annual dinner is Jan. 6 honoring broadcaster Kitty O'Neal as Carmichael Person of the Year. Earl "Ranger Jack" Koobs will be honored as Veteran of the Year and Lola and Jim Warrick will be recognized as Patriots of the Year for their work organizing the annual .
