Mikuni Fair Oaks Could Re-Open in Three Weeks

Mikuni's "Chief Dreaming Officer" made the announcement on his Facebook page Wednesday.

Mikuni's owner and "Chief Dreaming Officer" Taro Arai seems to be wasting no time in efforts to re-open his franchise's original location following a Dec. 2012 fire that left the restaurant with severe smoke and damage.

Arai was forced to close the restaurant, but he made it clear the restaurant would return.

In bringing back his flagship restaurant, Arai turned to local organizations and friends like "America's Got Talent" finalist David Garibaldi to breath some new life into the Sacramento favorite.

Now, Arai believes the restaurant could open within the next three weeks. He made the announcement Wednesday from his Facebook page.

"In about 3 weeks, we should be able to reopen!" Arai said from his Facebook page. "Excited to have David G. in our design team! Let's do this!"

The announcement came with an accompanying photo of the Arai with Garibaldi from inside his Fair Oaks restaurant.

The damage was initially estimated to be at least $50,000, according to early reports.
