Food Truck Craze Comes to Carmichael Thursday

At least five trucks will stop by inside the California Family Fitness parking lot on Thursday, Sept. 5.

For those planning on stopping by the 6314 Fair Oaks Blvd  Thursday, come hungry - and not for the workout. Why? Because NorCal Food Trucks is invading the gym parking lot, beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5.

NorCal Food Trucks representative Catherine Enfield expects at least five trucks to show up at the gym parking lot, but she's also trying to recruit more for the event. Patrons can expect to be enticed with marinated tri tip sliders, hamburgers, Hawaiian shaved ice desserts and freshly brewed espresso. A live DJ may also make an appearance, but it would be a last-minute addition, Enfield said.

This is a first for Carmichael, at least for NorCal Food Trucks, anyway, Enfield explained. Depending on the turnout, though, it could mean more appearances and more trucks should the event take off. The trouble with events like this is securing a large enough location for all the trucks and people, Enfield said.

"The more trucks, the more successful the event is," Enfield said. "This time we're starting out a little smaller, per the client's request, but it could grow and change with other clients, other locations."

"This one could grow to be as many as 10 or 12; we'll just have to see how it goes tomorrow."

When: 5 p.m. till 8 p.m.
Where:
California Family Fitness at 6314 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael
Food trucks:
Addison's Originals, Local Kine Hawaiian Ice, Miz Shirley's, Willie's Burgers, and Off the Mapp Espresso.

I, too, miss the history quiz of a mystery location. Please bring it back.

I am curious as to why it is vacant and fenced off.

*gasp!!* Tacky chain link fence? There go the property values! Chain link fence aroundRead More vacant/undeveloped land is usually an indicator of some County ordinance to secure the land for public safety. I'd buy the land and for the pure entertainment factor put mock working oil pump jacks on the land. Just to see what people do. :-p

Thanks for the kind words Josh and for doing a good job of taking over Carmichael among other PatchRead More towns. I'll always remember promoting Patch around the area and the weird looks we/you got out at the multi-chamber mixer. Best of luck in Alaska and say hi to the eskimos for me.
