Every so often, Starbucks runs a promotion that takes the sting out shelling out $4 or $5 for a drink.
Here’s the next one: Thursday through Sunday, you can buy one holiday drink and get one free between 2 and 5 p.m. The free beverage, of course, must be of equal or lesser value.
This year's holiday beverages include hot, iced or blended versions of Peppermint Mocha, Skinny Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte and Caramel Brulée Latte.
There are six Starbucks locations in the Fair Oaks and Carmichael areas:

- 4005 Manzanita Ave, Carmichael
- 5355 Sunrise Blvd, Fair Oaks
