Welcome back to the workweek, Fair Oaks. For those looking to formally return to it, find some supplemental work or just find a change of pace, here's a look at some of the available job positions right here in town.

Referral Driving School

Position(s): The Orangevale-based driving school is seeking part-time driving instructors for both minors and adults, for the purpose of helping customers attain a CA drivers license. The driving lessons provided are based on a planned syllabus, in accordance with California state driving laws.

Duties: The hours vary but could lead up to several hours per week. Work is generally around school hours, typically between 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and varied hours over weekends. Some morning and mid-day availability is a plus as well. As a driving instructor, you would be working one on one with the student. The hired candidate would not have a "supervisor" looking over his or her shoulder. The candidate will be friendly, trustworthy and approachable, while being able to pass along the required lessons in a friendly, patient manor.

Must be 25 years of age or older. Candidate must have a valid California drivers license, a high school diploma or GED, pass a physical, pass a background check and pass the California driving instructor license test as part of the application process.

Compensation: $16 per hour

China Run

Position(s): Cooks

Duties: China Run is a new Asian restaurant concept coming to Fair Oaks in need of cooks with a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor. The Fair Oaks location at 5484 Dewey Drive, suite 250 is looking for cooks with experience with Asian foods and wok cooking is a plus. Career-minded individuals with a minimum of two years kitchen experience is a plus.

Position(s): Line cook

Duties: The family-owned Italian bistro is currently seeking part-time help in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have experience with pizza, pasta and breakfast cuisine.

Position(s): Operations manager

Duties: Mirabelle is looking to add a particular candidate to its staff of 15 employees. The ideal candidate will overlook and advance the preparation of baked goods, fine eats, implement sales strategies, enforce excellent customer service and control the business' budget. 

• Managing a team of 15, communicating job expectations, disciplining and monitoring customer service, enforcing policies and procedures, hiring and coaching new employees, ensuring proper care of equipment, maintaining a desirable image inside and outside and actively updating an the web.
• Implementing and assisting production of all departments, productivity, quality of food and bakery preparation, monitor customer service standards, resolve problems, determine system improvements, implement changes when necessary.
• Estimate food consumption and waste, place/verify orders with suppliers, monitor and control inventory and sanitation standards.
• Regularly work with chefs to determine menu items and prices.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. No benefits will be offered.
