Census Counts Show Carmichael's Population Grew 24 Percent Over Past Decade
Carmichael's growth outpaced the statewide rate.
Figures released Tuesday from the 2010 Census show that Carmichael's population grew 24 percent over the decade from 2000 to 2010.
Overall, the city's population is 61,762, an increase of 12,020 residents compared with 2000.
In California, the population grew 10 percent from 2000 to 2010.
