Sacramento Area Officials Open Cooling Centers
Sacramento County officials provide list of area cooling centers.
The National Weather Service is advising that a ridge of high pressure will “bring dangerously-high temperatures” to California this week. In response, Sacramento area officials are advising residents without air conditioning to visit area cooling stations.
While there aren't expected to be any official cooling centers open in Fair Oaks or Carmichael, the area's public Carmichael Library, 5604 Marconi Ave., is open Tuesday through Wednesday during the heat from 10 am. to 8 p.m. They are closed on Mondays.
