It's Election Day, and many throughout Sacramento County will cast their votes on both issues affecting Americans on a national level and those impacting us closer to home.
As the results flood the Sacramento County Elections Office, we'll be updating readers with those numbers.
In one of the most hotly-contested Congressional races in the country, incumbent Dan Lungren [R-Gold River] is trying to fend off a challenge from Elk Grove physician Ami Bera [D]. Lungren's former chief of staff, Peter Tateishi [R], faces off against Rancho Cordova councilman Ken Cooley [D] in the Assembly District 8 race.
Citrus Heights residents will vote to fill two seats on their city council, while Rosemonters will choose a new representative for Area 3 of the Sacramento City Unified School District.
