Week in Review, April 16: Shared Meals, Yoga, Spring Fest, More

A look back on the week ending April 16.

It was a nice, warm and relaxing week in Fair Oaks. The kind of week, that just asks for a little outdoor entertainment and enjoyment. There was plenty of it going on in the community, too, so it may have been easy to miss out on some of the news happening around town. Sit back and take a look back on the week that was April 10-15.

  1. – Hot Yoga At Sunrise in coordination with Ping Yu, a five-year yoga instructor, put on a yoga practice in the Village Park, raising more than $2,140 to benefit those impacted by the Japanese earthquake.
  2. – In her latest article, columnist Terry Meier examines some of the evolving traditions when it comes to having quality time around the dinner table with the family.
  3. – Fair Oaks high schools are no stranger to a little friendly competition, and so the beat goes on as Bella Vista met Del Campo at home for a nail-biter all the way down to the last pitch.
  4. – It’s just another week in crime for would-be thieves and crooks, as writer Raheem Hosseini brings another week’s’ worth of .
  5. – Fair Oaks resident, David Baldwin was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to adjutant general, taking lead for California’s National Guard.
  6. – Spring Fest is right around the corner and Fair Oaks Patch has your sneak peak on what to expect this year.
  7. – In another edition of The Village Voice, we ask folks around town how they contribute time and/or money to their favorite charities and worthy causes.
  8. – Bella Vista’s lady Bronco varsity soccer team is looking to make its impression felt this season in the Capital Valley League, taking a big win over Rio Linda.

  10. – San Juan Unified School District is working to reconfigure school boundaries beginning in 2012.
