Back to school, Lungren visits Carmichael and more.

It was busy week in Carmichael, as San Juan Unified district schools and Jesuit High School started back up. Also, U.S. Rep Dan Lungren made two Carmichael visits. Here's a recap.

Saturday:

A Carmichael to his arms and chest late Friday night in a home fire at 5630 Kiva Drive, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials reported.

Monday:

Tuesday:

, R-Gold River, compared the country's path to fiscal responsibility on Tuesday to a boxing match, telling his constituents in Carmichael that a vote to increase the debt ceiling is just the first round of the fight. Lungren's "aye" in the historic vote for the Budget Control Act of 2011 was a step in the right direction, he told the crowd at the luncheon, held at .

Wednesday:

The fall 2011 semester has begun at . Just over 32,000 students are enrolled, said Stephen Peithman, a school spokesman.

Also, an estimated 350 people, both supporters and detractors, of U.S. Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Gold River, attended what became a heated town hall meeting Wednesday at Carmichael's La Sierra Community Center.

Thursday:

Carmichael's Jesuit High School welcomed both new and returning students on Thursday for the first day of instruction of the 2011-12 school year. New to Jesuit this year is school president the Rev. David Suwalsky.

Also, a former El Camino High School freshman boys basketball on numerous counts of child
pornography, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office announced.

Three Carmichael in an art auction sponsored by KVIE Public Television, officials announced.
