Week in Review, Sept. 8: STAR Test Results, Mobile Food Trucks, More

If it felt like the week breezed by, there are probably at least a couple of reasons for that. Despite a shortened work week, there was no shortage of goings on in the Fair Oaks and Carmichael areas helping speed the week along. The California Department of Education released statewide STAR testing results, and local K-8 schools in the scored higher than the county average in all major areas of study. Mobile food truck mania found its way into Carmichael on Thursday. Local high school principals shared how they're learning to motivate their teachers who are working more with less and finding success in the process.

  1.  - Proposition 32 on November ballot seeks to cripple the labor movement, critics argue. Supporters say it's a necessary check on the power of "special interests."
  2.  - The California Department of Education released statewide results Friday, and local K-8 schools scored higher than the county average in all major areas of study.
