Fair Oaks Blvd. Corridor Plan discussion and high school sports.
1. The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will consider a general plan amendment regarding the to change the general plan designation from "Commercial Offices" and a mix of residential to "Neighborhood Transit Oriented Development." The goal is to make Fair Oaks Boulevard, which many say is full of auto repair shops and fast food joints, into a new "Main St." with commercial/residential redevelopment and trees that is more aesthetically pleasing and more friendly to pedestrians and bicyclists. The board meeting is at 700 H Street, Ste. 1450 in Sacramento and the corridor plan issue is scheduled for 3 p.m.
2. In high school sports, the team faces its American River Drive rival Jesuit, ranked No. 1 in the nation, on the Marauders field at 4 p.m. Check back later for a story on the Jesuit boys. The team host Antelope. The Eagles are 13-1 following Tuesday's 3-0 sweep of Christian Brothers. Check back later for a story on the El Camino girls. The Rio boys water polo team hosts area rival Mira Loma at 5 p.m. The and Matadors girls play at 6 p.m. is on the road at Oak Ridge at 3:45 p.m. hosts Cordova. plays at Whitney of Rocklin at 6:15 p.m.
