Where to Pick Up or Receive a Turkey Friday

Donate a bird to the food bank, or pick one up at the Dr. Ephraim Williams Family Life Center.

Whether you're in a place to give more this holiday season, or are more in need of other's generosity, Friday is an opportunity to give and receive Thanksgiving's famed animal.

Turkeys will be given away from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dr. Ephraim Williams Family Life Center (3996 14th Avenue) during the second annual "Friday Night Hoops Turkey Giveaway." The event is organized by the Sacramento Sheriff's Activities League, and is limited to one turkey per family.

Turkeys can also be donated during the day, from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Sacramento Food Bank during its fifth annual turkey drive. The food bank is at 3333 Third Ave. in Oak Park.
