On this Date in History: A Train Arrives in Fair Oaks

The first train arriving at the new Fair Oaks Depot, June 6, 1901.

June 6, 1901, the first train arrived from Sacramento at the Fair Oaks Depot on the new Southern Pacific spur line, following the completion of the Fair Oaks Bridge.  Passenger service continued until the 1930's and freight service lasted until about 1980.
