A leaked court reporter transcript from the 2009 Commission on Judicial Performance prosecution of Sacramento County judge and Carmichael resident Peter McBrien discloses new facts about the case. The CJP is the state government agency responsible for oversight and accountability of California judges. The transcript of oral argument by CJP prosecutor Andrew Blum includes allegations that while under oath McBrien misstated the facts surrounding his 2000 criminal conviction for the destruction of public owned trees at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center in Ancil Hoffman Park. McBrien had the trees cut to improve the view of the American River from his home on a bluff above the park.
