Poll: How Much of an Inconvenience is Construction on Fair Oaks Blvd.?

You've probably driven along Fair Oaks Boulevard at the Marconi Avenue/Palm Street intersection in Carmichael and been stuck in traffic.

The four-lane road (two lanes in each direction) is already packed during rush hour in the morning and afternoon. Recently, there have been times when traffic is down to one lane in direction as work continues on the .

The plan calls for making Carmichael's major roadway more friendly for pedestrians and bicyclists as well as motorists. Artist renderings show a modern, tree-lined street, a welcome change from the tired look of what some say is too many auto and thrift shops.
