April 3-4: Fake Prescriptions Earn Pair Real Jail Time

A man and woman are behind bars following a botched attempt at submitting a stolen or fake Oxycodone prescription at .

On March 30 around 6:30 p.m., Kyle Cole attempted to turn in a stolen/fake prescription for Oxycodone at the Raley's pharmacy at 8870 Madison Avenue. Recoginizing the dubious prescription, pharmacists contacted Sacramento County Sheriff's Department officials, said Sheriff's spokesman Jason Ramos.

Deputies contacted Cole, who was with accomplice Kathryn Risso, outside the business. Upon contact, a probation search of Cole revealed 35 Oxycodone without a prescription and a brown, rock-like substance - heroin. Cole gave deputies consent to search his vehicle. Risso's purse was inside the vehicle. Risso denied consent to deputies to search her purse. A short while later, a narcotics K9 officer arrived on scene and alerted on Risso's purse. A probable cause search revealed a brown, rock-like substance - again, heroin. Both Cole and Risso were arrested and booked at the Main Jail on charges ranging from possession of illegal narcotics and California health code and probation violations.

Items stolen from local storage unit

A robbery of a storage unit that occurred Jan. 7, reported April 4 may have been the result of the occupant's recent check of the space.

Whatever the reason for the tardy report, details are scarce and it would seem no one knows exactly who committed the crime or exactly when it happened. What is known is suspect(s) removed the lock to the victim’s storage unit by unknown means, according to the deputy's report. The suspect(s) then took items from the storage unit located at 6108 Hazel Ave., closed the door and then fled.
