Fair Oaks Fire Kills One Man, Four Dogs
The fire on Main Street claimed the life of 64-year-old Ronald Burns.
An afternoon fire in Fair Oaks Monday claimed the life of a 64-year-old man and four dogs, authorities say.
The blaze, first reported around 3:15 p.m. on the 4000 block of Main St., also injured two firefighters, according to a press release from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
The man killed in the fire was identified by the county coroner as Ronald Burns.

Fire officials say he was inside the home when firefighters arrived on the scene.
"The individual was moved outside, but unfortunately, nothing could be done to safe his life," a press release from the fire district says. "This tragedy took the lives of one individual and four dogs and injured two firefighters during the attempted rescue."

In the press release, fire officials offered their condolences for Burns' death. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
