A garage fire at a home on La Colina Avenue in Carmichael on Tuesday evening injured a person and killed two dogs, a Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District official has confirmed.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 2844 La Colina Ave. at 6:35 p.m., Asst. Chief Walt White said. Two adults in the home were able to escape but two dogs remained inside.
A female sustained minor injuries and was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center where she treated and later released, White said.
The fire damaged the garage and two vehicles and completely destroyed a boat in the driveway, he said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, White said.
