Male Victim in July Hit and Run Dies in Carmichael

Harison Long-Randall had been in hospital since July 16 incident.

A male victim in a at Garfield Avenue and Engle Road in Carmichael has died from his injuries, a California Highway Patrol official has confirmed.

Harison Long-Randall, 21, died at about 3 a.m. Sunday at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Officer Lizz Dutton said.

Long-Randall was walking his four dogs with his girlfriend Gemily West, 23, on at night when they were struck by a speeding motorist. The dogs were killed in the incident.

The suspect, , 31, appeared in court last week. California Highway Patrol officials told The Sacramento Bee they would seek to add vehicular manslaughter to the previous charges that include driving under the influence and felony animal cruelty.
