When Dontae Dixon, 22, saw Sacramento County Sheriff's approach him in front of a Carmichael liquor store, he didn't wait for them to ask him any questions; he fled on his bicycle instead.
That's what deputies wrote down in their report at least.
According to Sheriff's officials, on April 12 around 2:40 a.m., deputies were in the area of Manzanit Avenue and Hilltop Drive searching for a wanted subject when they attempted to confront Dixon, 22, who they saw riding his bicycle down a sidewalk in front of a nearby liquor store. When deputies tried to talk to Dixon, he immediately fled on his bicycle, according to the report.

After a brief chase, the deputies found Dixon near a neighborhood fence line. After detaining Dixon and searching the immediate area, deputies found a small red canvas bag. Inside the bag deputies report finding several small plastic baggies filled with an off-white crystal substance in one of the baggies. The substance was later identified as methamphetamine, according to the report.
Dixon was subsequently arrested on charges of possession of an illegal narcotic and violating his probationary period.

It is still unclear whether the subject deputies were searching for was in fact Dixon. Sheriff's officials did not reply to inquiries when asked at the time of this report.
