If you live in unincorporated Sacramento County and are interested in starting a neighborhood watch, put Sept. 23 on your calendar.
A neighborhood watch startup meeting for new groups is set for 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at Sheriff’s Marconi Stationhouse, 2500 Marconi Ave. (near the corner of Fulton Avenue and Marconi), in the Stationhouse’s Community Room
The meeting, sponsored by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, will teach residents how to set up a watch program locally.
"Neighborhood Watch is a simple concept that has demonstrated time and again how residents working together can strengthen their neighborhood and reduce their own crime risks," County Supervisor Susan Peters said in an email.
More information is available on the Sheriff’s website.
