One Hit and Run Victim Released From Hospital; Suspect in Court Monday
Paul Walden faces multiple charges, Gemily West has been released.
One victim in last week's that injured two people and killed four dogs has been released from a Carmichael hospital and the was in court Monday.
Gemily West, 23, who was walking her dogs with her boyfriend on July 16, when they were struck by a motorist on Garfield Avenue at Engle Road, was released from Mercy San Juan Medical Center, The Sacramento Bee reported.
Harison Long-Randall, 21, remains in critical but stable condition after losing one of his legs, hospital spokeswoman Melissa Jue told The Bee.

Paul Walden, 31, was in court Monday, according to online court records. Walden faces two felony charges of hit and run, four felony counts of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and a misdemeanor count of driving with a suspended license.
His bail was set at $135,000. His next court date is Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

Walden previously had three DUI arrests, The Bee reported last week.
