Orangevale Residents Escape Morning Fire

Apparent electrical fire caused $20,000 in damage to mobile home.

Two elderly people in Orangevale escaped an apparent electrical fire in a mobile home Friday morning.

Shortly after 8 a.m., at 9340 Orangevale Avenue, an elderly resident said she "heard a pop in the back bedroom that was followed by fire," according to Sacramento Metro Fire.

Units were quickly dispatched to a report of heavy smoke coming from the residence, and units arrived to find a "working fire in the rear section of a single-family mobile home." Crews then attacked the fire, containing it to the back section of the home so no other structures were damaged.
