Two elderly people in Orangevale escaped an apparent electrical fire in a mobile home Friday morning.
Shortly after 8 a.m., at 9340 Orangevale Avenue, an elderly resident said she "heard a pop in the back bedroom that was followed by fire," according to Sacramento Metro Fire.
Units were quickly dispatched to a report of heavy smoke coming from the residence, and units arrived to find a "working fire in the rear section of a single-family mobile home." Crews then attacked the fire, containing it to the back section of the home so no other structures were damaged.
Two trucks, four engines and an ambulance crew responded to the fire to save much of the residents' home and belongings as possible. Damage from the fire is estimated at $20,000.
