Photos: Car Crashes Through Nearby Auto Parts Store

The fire department says it appears the driver accidentally applied the gas instead of brakes.

The following is a press release from the Sacramento Metro Fire District:

Just before 1 PM [Sunday], Metro Fire units were dispatched to a single vehicle crash into a Napa Auto Parts store at 6831 Watt Avenue.  Crews arrived to find the vehicle completely in the store and one customer with minor injuries.

Though CHP is conducting the investigation, it appears the driver mistakingly applied the gas pedal instead of the brake.  Due to the building and inventory damage, the store will be closed for an unknown amount of time.
