Toddler Drowns in Pool at Carmichael Home

Victim lived on La France Drive.

A 14-month-old Carmichael toddler died Saturday night of what appears to be a drowning in a pool in the backyard of a home on La France Drive, according to county officials.

Emily Elizabeth Washington is the girl's name, according to the Sacramento County coroner's website.

Sacramento County sheriff's Dep. Jason Ramos told The Sacramento Bee that deputies were called for a possible drowning at a home on La France Drive at 9:20 p.m. Saturday.

Ramos declined to comment further on the case to Carmichael Patch.

"There has been no determination made as of yet that this was anything other than a tragic accident," Ramos wrote in an emailed statement. "As it stands now, though, there is no criminal investigation going on."

The coroner's website names the parents as Theresa and Michael Washington.
