Two Injured As Rancho Cordova "Industrial Accident" Leads to Fire, Hazmat Response at Aerojet Rocketdyne

The following is a press release from the Sacramento Metro Fire District:

Just before 8 this morning, five engines, three trucks, one Hazardous Materials Unit, three medics, and 2 Battalion Chiefs from Metro Fire responded to Aerojet Rocketdyne for reports of an explosion.

No fire was found on arrival, so crews’ primary function was to provide medical support for injuries, confirm that the area was clear of Hazardous Materials, and be prepared to respond to additional incidents, if needed. Two employees had been injured in the accident:  one was transported to a local hospital, while the second was treated and released at the scene.
