Carmichael Stays in Supervisorial District 3

Of supervisorial changes, Fair Oaks would be one of communities to see most significant shift.

Sacramento County Supervisors agreed on a supervisorial redistricting proposal that would leave Carmichael alone while bringing significant change for a number of area communities, including Fair Oaks.

The finalized plan will move Fair Oaks into Supervisor District 3, currently represented by , joining communities like Carmichael, Arden-Arcade and parts of North Highlands.

Fair Oaks was represented by Supervisor Roberta MacGlashan in District 4 before the changes were made.

On Sept. 20, the Board of Supervisors will introduce an ordinance to legally change the district boundaries. The new boundaries will take effect 30 days following the adoption of the ordinance.

During the previous redistricting hearing on Aug. 24, Supervisors narrowed down the number of proposed plans being considered to nine and created an additional draft, .  At Thursday’s hearing, supervisors made additional adjustments to draft plan ES1e(draft 4) that resulted in the final redistricting plan.

Among other communities to see significant change, Rancho Murieta moved from Supervisor Nottoli (District 5) to Supervisor MacGlashan (District 4), Rio Linda and Elverta moved from Supervisor Serna (District 1) to Supervisor MacGlashan (District 4) and a section of Old Land Park moved from Supervisor Yee (District 2) to Supervisor Serna (District 1).
