Peters is a Sacramento County supervisor whose district includes now includes Fair Oaks, a community she has represented since September 2011. Among the board of supervisors, she is the vice chair.

As such, Peters is arguably one of the most visible elected public officials at local functions. She has spoken in favor of redevelopment for , which intends to beautify the area, making it more friendly for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.
