Guardrail Enhancement to Continue on Fair Oaks Blvd.

Supervisor Peters says project should begin in the fall.

By Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters.

Installation of the remaining second phase of guardrails to enhance safety on Fair Oaks Boulevard should begin in the fall for the center median from San Ramon Way/Wilhaggin Drive to Eastern Avenue.  The project is nearly designed and there are no issues with utility easements or right-of-way to delay implementation.

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation expects to finish its design and come before the Board of Supervisors in August for approval and authority to go out to bid.

SACDOT was successful in obtaining grant funding for this remaining stretch of the boulevard.  The first phase that started from Watt Avenue to San Ramon Way/Wilhaggin Drive was funded through Measure A Sales Tax funds.
