Lungren to Hold Precinct Walks in Elk Grove and Folsom

The congressman running for election in a newly created district will knock on doors this Saturday.

Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Gold River) will be walking door-to-door with volunteers this weekend, likely hoping to make every door-knock count as the Nov. 6 election draws closer.

"This week many people begin voting, and with many yet to make up their mind on who to vote for, your help could make all the difference in this very tight race," Lungren Campaign Manager Jeff Wyly wrote on the campaign's website.

Lungren is facing off against Elk Grove Democrat Ami Bera in California's Congressional District 7.

On Wednesday, Lungren received the support of the Elk Grove Citizen Newspaper's owner Roy Herburger, a day after Bera received an endorsement from former President Bill Clinton during a rally in Davis.

The two men debated in a televised event last month.

Lungren's precinct walks will begin at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday in Elk Grove and Folsom: in Elk Grove, volunteers will meet at the former Bel Air, 8787 Elk Grove Blvd. In Folsom, they will meet at the Courtyard by Marriott parking lot, 2575 Iron Point Road.
