Poll: Who Has Your Vote for Assembly District 8?
Six candidates will face off on June 5.
Tuesday's primary election will feature six choices for the newly created Assembly district that includes Carmichael, Rosemont, parts of north Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, and stretches southeast to include Vineyard, Wilton and Rancho Murieta.
Alyson Huber is the incumbent for the area formerly known as District 10, but she isn't running in 2012. Mariko Yamada is the incumbent for the old District 8 which included most of Yolo and Solano counties and is not running for the newly created .
has Carmichael ties, having served as honorary mayor and on the Carmichael Recreation and Parks District board.

Phillip Tufi has Rosemont ties. The Republican has his campaign headquarters at 4226 Rosefield Way.
Because of new open primary laws, the two top finishers will face each other in the November general election, regardless of their political party.
