Report: Lungren Raises More Money Than Bera

Sac. Bee: Congressman outraises challenger.

(R-Gold River) took in more than $500,000 for his re-election campaign in the first three months of the year, outraising rival , an Elk Grove Democrat, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Lungren ended March with just under $900,000 on hand, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission, The Bee reported. Bera, whose filing has not yet appeared on the FEC website, said in a release issued earlier this month that he raised $366,000.

Mario Galvan, a Carmichael resident and San Juan High School teacher who supports the "Occupy Sacramento" movement, previously announced he would also challenge Lungren in the newly drawn 7th Congressional District, which includes east Sacramento County and stretches from Citrus Heights to Galt.
