Who's Running for Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District Board?

The candidate filing period runs through Aug. 10. See who plans to run for a seat on Fair Oaks' Recreation and Park District during the November election.

Candidates still have time to file paperwork to run for open seats on the Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District Board of Directors in the November election.

General elections will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6. The candidates' filing period began July 16 and runs through Aug. 10.

The Board of Directors term begins January 13.

Although all the official candidates won't be available until the filing period ends, all three incumbants have voiced their intention to run for reelection. Some preliminary information on potential candidates is available now, according to various sources.

Here are potential candidates for each school district, according to the Sacramento County Elections Office:

  • Brandon D. Rose: An air pollution specialist with the California Air Resources Board and U.C. Davis alum, Rose has served on the Park District board of directors since 2008. Rose is also a graduate of Bella Vista High School, class of 1999. 
  • John O’Farrell: A graduate of U.C. Davis, O'Farrell holds bachelors degrees in political science and history with a master in public administration. O'Farrell is an administrator for the Sacramento County Community Development and Neighborhood Assistance Agency. He has been a board member since 2006.
  • Geoffrey Simcoe: A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Simcoe has since retired and serves as the district board chair. Simcoe has confirmed he will be filing papers for reelection.
