THE LITTLE RED HEN MAKES A PIZZA @ FAIR OAKS
Thursday, August 01, 2013
4:00 PM
Kids love to make pizza! This fun-filled program is packed with activities. We make whole wheat pizza dough from scratch—watching the yeast foam, stirring and kneading the dough. Kids will go home with the dough recipe and make a special pizza recipe piled high with veggies to eat in class, and while we’re eating we read "The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza)"! Presented by the California Food Literacy Center. This is a Summer Reading Program event.

What is the most likely thing that will strand you when you are out for a ride? Did you ever wonder what all of those knobs and little twirly things? How about the kinds of tools and parts you should carry on a ride? Come learn how to fix a flat, adjust brakes and derailleurs, perform a bike safety check before each ride, and to know when the work on your bike is beyond your skill level and it needs to go into the shop. We will also talk about basic tools for the road, and some of the tools of a home shop. This class is taught by Donald Bybee, a League of American Bicyclist certified instructor and a volunteer mechanic at the Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen. This is a Summer Reading Program event.
