Come and meet one-on-one with a volunteer job coach who will help you look for jobs, create an effective resume, and more! Each appointment lasts for 30 minutes. Participants are encouraged to register in advance online for a timeslot at 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, or 7 pm. If no appointments are scheduled, the service will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until 7 pm.

Bring your child to the library to read aloud to a quiet, friendly dog. Each dog is attended by an adult volunteer, and both are trained and licensed by Therapy Dogs, Inc. Children who read to the dogs can earn a book of their choice from our collection of books provided by the Friends of the Fair Oaks Library. And for our December program, we are encouraging participants to come in their pajamas!

The 3.5 hour Combo Practice Test helps students decide which test is right for them. Students receive feedback that compares their performance on each of the analogous test sections of the two exams—for example, SAT math section vs. ACT math section. This is a perfect opportunity to experience both tests. Presented and proctored by Kaplan. **Note: follow-up for scores Thursday, November 21st at 4:30 PM.

This special program, taught by published mystery author, Susan Spann ("Claws of the Cat: A Shinobi Mystery"), will cover the basic elements of mystery writing, including selecting a sleuth, plotting the perfect crime, creating believable suspects and using setting to enhance the mystery. Open to adults and teens. Susan Spann is a transactional attorney and mystery author whose Shinobi Mystery series, featuring the adventures of ninja detective Hiro Hattori, debuted in July 2013 from Macmillan/Minotaur Books. The first novel, CLAWS OF THE CAT, was named a Library Journal debut of the month and has received praise from Kirkus Reviews, Publisher's Weekly, RT Book Reviews, Booklist, and the New York Journal of Books.
