Bella Vista High Named One of the 'Smartest' Public Schools in Region

The ranking is based on average SAT scores from the 2010-11 school year.

Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks is considered one of the "smartest public high schools" in the Sacramento region.

That's according to the Sacramento Business Journal's look at average SAT scores for the 2010-11 school year. They looked at the Sacramento region's public schools and created a list of the top 25 schools with the highest average SAT scores.

Bella Vista High came in at No. 6, tied with Granite Bay High School, with an average SAT score of 1682 in 2010-11, according to the SBJ. A perfect SAT score would be 2,400.

Mira Loma High School in Sacramento, also within the San Juan Unified School District, came in at No. 1 with an average SAT score of 1852, the SBJ reports.

Other area schools that made the list include Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove, Oakmont High in Roseville and Rio American High and El Camino Fundamental both also in San Juan Unified. Two Davis schools made the top three.

Five schools from San Juan Unified made the list — the district with the most schools on the list.
