El Camino Baseball's Season Ends As Runners-Up in Section

Eagles have best finish in school history.

El Camino's most successful baseball season in school history ended Monday as the Eagles finished as CIF Sac-Joaquin Section runners-up in Division III.

El Camino lost 3-0 to Rodriguez of Fairfield at Sacramento City College.

The Eagles' 10-game winning streak was snapped by Mustangs pitcher Jesse Scholtens, who will play for Arizona in the fall, The Sacramento Bee reported.

El Camino had won 15 out of their 16 games under first-year coach David Brown to make the . They can be proud to have finished higher than any Eagles team before, even the early 1990's teams with future MLB All-Star Derrek Lee.

"Although El Camino baseball didn't win the banner they went farther than any team in school history," school officials wrote on Twitter. "Way to represent Eagles!"
