Girls Soccer Playoffs: El Camino Tops Lincoln on PKs

Eagles advance after penalty kicks.

The El Camino girls soccer team battled host Lincoln to a 1-1 tie in regulation on Thursday in the section playoffs before the game went to penalty kicks where the Eagles won 3-1.

El Camino tied the match 1-1 late in the second half on a goal by Jaqui Ortega off a crossing pass from Carly Nelson, The Sacramento Bee reported. The match remained tied through two 10-minute overtimes before the Eagles prevailed on PKs.

The names of scorers in the penalty kicks for El Camino was not reported.

The Eagles advance to the second round of playoffs at Solano County Athletic Conference champion Benicia at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

In other games Tuesday, hosts Yuba City and Victory Christian is at Mariposa in Division VI.
