Should Fair Oaks & Carmichael Schools Serve Peanuts?

Nearby Elk Grove Unified will no longer serve peanuts after a Carmichael teen died from an allergic reaction to peanuts. Should San Juan Unified schools follow suit?

After a 13-year-old Carmichael girl at an area summer camp died from a single bite of a dessert made with peanuts, some California school districts are taking actions to remove foods with peanuts from their cafeteria menus.

Nearby Elk Grove Unified School District is following suit, News10 reports.

As of this Friday, Elk Grove elementary schools will no longer serve foods with peanuts–including peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
