McGuire was selected from about 21,000 24 Hour Fitness employees nationwide to staff and support America's best athletes at the United States Olympic Committee’s High Performance Training Center in London, where Team USA will train and prepare for the games from July 14-25, 24 Hour Fitness officials said.

24 Hour Fitness is an official sponsor of the USOC and Official Fitness Center Sponsor of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams.

McGuire was selected based on merit, performance and her ability to help people reach their fitness goals, the release stated. As part of this distinguished group of fitness professionals going to London, she will oversee operations of the HPTC facility and assist Team USA with their workout needs, which could include training.

"I've always been enamored by gymnasts, the amount of power they have," she said when asked which athletes she would most like to meet while in London. "I hope I get the opportunity to work with them."

Among the athletes McGuire may work with is U.S. men's volleyball player Gabe Gardner of Carmichael.

Before she leaves London, McGuire said she wants to take in the famous sights such as the Big Ben clock tower, London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey.

"I've been scared of ferris wheels so I've been told to visit the London Eye," she said. "I can't wait."
