Carmichael Group Attends River Cats Game

Members of the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce and community come out to enjoy a game of River Cats baseball at Raley Field on Friday.

Carmichael residents and business owners gathered on Friday at the Sacramento River Cats game at Raley Field in West Sacramento.

About 150 by the , said Linda Melody of the chamber.

Paul Scholl of the Carmichael Times weekly newspaper threw out the first pitch.

As for the game, the Cats fell 1-0 to the Las Vegas 51s.

Such a great defensive game too. The River Cats' starting pitcher put on a heck of a performance. One hit and one run allowed, 13 strikeouts and now has 154 strikeouts for the season, (the most in all of professional baseball, including starting pitchers in the majors) and has a 3-2 record with a 1.09 ERA. It's still too bad that he didn't get the win Friday night but at least the River Cats split the series.
