Plenty To Do on Fourth in Carmichael

Carmichael residents looking to spend the Fourth of July in town can plan for a full day of activities.

Carmichael's gala parade and fireworks show is set for Wednesday.

It all kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Clubhouse. The breakfast is sponsored by the .

Then at 10:30 a.m., the 54th annual Carmichael Elks Club Parade gets under way. The parade will include community floats, marching bands, equestrian entries, military units, antique automobiles and more.

The parade route begins at Marconi Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard and continues up Fair Oaks to Cypress and Manzanita avenues. The grandstand is located across the street from Carmichael Park, 5750 Grant Avenue.

The evening wouldn't be complete without the annual fireworks show at the , 5325 Engle Road. Arrive at 7 p.m. for food and music. The Carmichael Little League Snack Bar will be open. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and shade umbrellas.

The fireworks show begins at dark, or about 9:30 p.m.
